【案例摘要】
随着经济和工业水平的快速发展,环境暴露对健康的影响逐渐引起广泛关注,各种环境暴露物,如镉、纳米材料、病毒等通过空气、水、食物、皮肤接触等途径进入人体,对人体各部位造成一系列的损伤,并导致各种疾病甚至癌症的发生。目前对各种环境暴露因素引起的机体损伤和疾病尚难以找到肯定、有效的干预措施,这促使人们对于环境暴露毒性作用机制的研究系统地深入到细胞器乃至分子水平,其中线粒体作为细胞“动力站”而得到重点研究。厦门大学公共卫生学院卫生毒理学课题组关注于环境污染和职业暴露中的有毒化学物质,探讨其诱导肝损伤的作用靶点和调控机制。本案例以重金属镉为例,关注线粒体质量控制在环境镉暴露毒性作用的机制以及靶向干预的意义,通过解析该研究的关键过程,使学生掌握线粒体质量控制的基本概念,学习研究方案设计与实施,培养学生开展毒理学机制研究的能力。

Abstract
With the rapid development of the economy and industry, the impact of environmental exposures on health has gradually attracted attention. Various environmental exposure factors, such as cadmium, nanomaterials, viruses, etc., enter the human body through air, water, food, skin contact, and cause a series of damages to various parts of the body, leading to various diseases and even cancer. Currently, it is still difficult to find definite and effective intervention measures for the organism damage and diseases caused by various environmental exposure factors. This prompts researchers to systematically investigate the mechanisms of environmental toxicity at cellular and molecular levels, with a focus on mitochondria as the “powerhouse” of the cell. The Toxicology Research Group at the School of Public Health, Xiamen University, focuses on toxic compounds in environmental pollution and occupational exposure, exploring the target sites and regulatory mechanisms underlying liver damage induced by these compounds. The group pays particular attention to the role of mitochondrial quality control in the toxicity of environmental exposures and the significance of targeted interventions. By analyzing the key processes of this research, the students are able to grasp the basic concepts of mitochondrial quality control, design and implement study protocols, and cultivate their ability to conduct mechanistic research in toxicology.
