Prof. Fang Ya led a team to participate in the 2023 IAGG Asia/Oceania Regional Congress and went to the University of Tokyo for a study exchange

On June 12-14, 2023 International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG) Asia/Oceania Regional Conference was held in Yokohama, Japan, which is an important academic event in the field of geriatrics research worldwide, and the theme of the conference was “Enhancing Happiness in Late Life through Innovation and Wisdom Sharing”. Prof. Fang Ya led a team of 6 people to attend the conference.

During the conference, postdoctoral fellow Yafei Wu, doctoral students Zirong Ye and Haixu Liang, and master's student Shuli Lian gave a wonderful academic report on the latest achievements in their respective research fields, covering cognitive functions, data mining and statistical methods of the elderly. The reports aroused wide interest and positive responses from the delegates. In addition, Wu Yafei was awarded the “Outstanding Presentation Award” by the conference organizer, which is the only winner of this award in mainland China.

   

On June 15, Prof. Fang Ya and her delegation went to the School of Public Health, the University of Tokyo for a study exchange. Prof. Hideki HASHIMOTO, Director of the Department of Public Health Medicine of School of Public Health, the University of Tokyo, warmly welcomed Prof. Fang Ya and her team. Afterwards, both parties introduced the development of their respective teams and schools, and had an in-depth discussion focusing on the current issues in the field of healthy aging and active aging. Both sides also shared their experiences in research and practice, and explored possible solutions and key directions for further deeper and more practical cooperation.


Both teams have been committed to promoting global public health and health careers for a long time, and this visit has laid a good foundation for further expanding cooperation and exchanges in the field of public health between the two sides, and will also help promote the opening up of our hospital to the outside world to build a new development pattern of public health-related disciplines.
