On September 15, at the CAETS 2026 Annual Meeting in Munich, Germany, the short film The Story of China's World-First Hepatitis E Vaccine, produced by the team led by Professor Ningshao Xia of Xiamen University and recommended by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, won the sole 2026 CAETS Communication Prize. It was selected from entries recommended by CAETS member academies in 12 countries. According to CAETS, the prize is known as the Global Award for Engineering Communication, recognizing the most outstanding audiovisual communication of excellence and innovation in technological sciences or engineering. It has been awarded to only one work each year since 2021.

This marks the second time a Chinese team has received the prize since the inaugural CAETS Communication Prize in 2021, reflecting the international engineering and technology community's high recognition of China's achievements in vaccine engineering and technological innovation. At the award ceremony, Professor Zizheng Zheng accepted the prize and delivered remarks on behalf of the team.
