On the afternoon of December 18, Zhao Junqiang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Social Development at the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and his delegation visited our institute to investigate the construction progress of the National Medical Research and Industry-Education Integration Innovation Platform (Vaccine R&D). The third grade researcher of Manpower Division of Social Department of NDRC, Ms. WenJing He, the deputy director of Social Division of Fujian Development and Reform Commission, Mr. Kongchun Chen, the director of Social Division of Xiamen Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Mr. Hong Qiu, the deputy director of Social Division of Xiamen Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Mr. Zhu Xuxu, and the vice president of Xiamen University, Mr. Qiu Weijie, participated in the research.

Prof. Ningshao Xia reported in detail the background of the National Innovation Platform for Industry-Education Integration in Medical Research (Vaccine Research and Development), as well as the progress of infrastructure and equipment procurement, discipline development, talent cultivation, and scientific research innovation.

Junqiang Zhao fully affirmed the achievements of the platform construction. He stated that the NDRC will , as always, actively support the development of the innovation platform for the integration of industry and education . He expressed hope that Xiamen University would closely align with the platform's construction goals, efficiently advance the completion of various tasks, and make new contributions to the promotion of vaccine field talent training and scientific research innovation .
